The nephew of prominent Fianna Fail politicians has been taking some exams of the Leaving Certificate in hospital this week.
Paddy Kitt, nephew of ex-Government Fianna Fáil Ministers Áine Brady, Michael Kitt and Chief Whip Tom Kitt, has been forced to take his Leaving Certificate French and Biology papers from the confines of his hospital bed.
Paddy, the son of Proinsias Kitt, was struck with a virus on Wednesday morning during an exam and was rushed to University Hospital Galway. Paddy is a student of St. Joseph’s Patrician College “The Bish” in Galway City Centre.
The school authorities organised a supervisor in order for Paddy to sit his French exam Wednesday afternoon and his Biology exam yesterday morning.
The Salthill teenager is hoping to attend NUIG next year and study Business and French, and was hoping for at least a B3 in his French exam.
Paddy had to undergo painkilling injection after sitting his Biology paper yesterday, as to have it beforehand would have made him too drowsy to take the paper.
The examinations run until June 24 for Leaving Certs.
