Paddy Casey for Monroe’s show

Singer-songwriter Paddy Casey will be in concert at Monroe’s Live, Dominick Street, this Saturday night, August 10.

Having toured with U2 and performed on Letterman off the back of the huge success of his first three albums, Amen (So Be It), Living, and Addicted to Company, Paddy decided to take an extended break from recording in 2009.

His first two albums sold in excess of 250,000 copies in Ireland alone, with songs such as Saints and Sinners, Bend Down Low, Everybody Wants and The Lucky One marking him out as a cut above the rest of the singer-songwriter mob.

After parting ways with the Sony record label, he adopted a more considered approach to songwriting, free from corporate pressure, and finally returned last year with his fourth full-length offering, The Secret Life Of which saw him work with Amen (So Be It) producer Pat Donne.

With songs written over a five-year period, it represents not so much a return to form as a re-invention, and sees him experiment with a more indie-pop sound. It even includes an electronic track, Lightsong.
