Overseas tourist spend in the West exceeds 350 million euro

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Almost 400 million euro was spent in the tourism industry in the west of Ireland last year by overseas visitors.
That’s according to a new report about ‘The Contribution of the Drinks Industry to Tourism’.
It shows there are 489 pubs in Galway, with 69 hotel bars on licences, 13 fully licenced restaurants and 11 wine-only licenced restaurants.
Almost 1.2 million overseas visitors came to the West last year, spending 379 million euro.
They listed a visit to an Irish pub as the top tourist attraction.
