Over the Edge March reading at City Library

The Featured Reader for this month’s Over the Edge Reading at Galway City Library are Mark Roper, Aelmuire Mullaney and Anne Donnellan. It will take place on Thursday, March 28, from 6.30-8pm.

Mark Roper’s most recent collection, Bindweed, published by Dedalus Press in 2017, was shortlisted for The Irish Times Poetry Now Award. His earlier collection, A Gather of Shadow, (2012) was also shortlisted for that award and won the Michael Hartnett Award in 2014. With photographer Paddy Dwan, he has published three books, most recently Comeragh: Mountain, Coum, River, Rumour.  The former editor of Poetry Ireland Review, he has written the librettos for two operas by Eric Sweeney, composer and retired Head of Music at Waterford Institute of Technology.

Anne Donnellan, who was raised in County Clare, has been  living and working in Galway since 1980 and is engaged with human rights advocacy, working in Age Action. She attends the poetry workshops given by poet and novelist Kevin Higgins. Anne’s poems have been published in ROPES,  A New Ulster, The Linnet’s Wings, The Clare Champion and The Galway City Tribune. She was shortlisted in the 2018 Poems for Patience Competition .
