OVER ONE AND A HALF MILLION PAID TO GALWAY COUNCILLORS

Galway City Councillors earn just under 30-thousand-euro a year on average while their county council counterparts earn slightly more on average.

That’s according to a report in today’s Irish Independent which compiles and compares councillor’s expenses for 2008 and 2009.

Over one-million-euro was paid to county councillors last year while over 517-thousand-euro was paid to city councillors.
