Over 170 new jobs to be created in Galway Gaeltacht
Galway bay fm newsroom – 177 new jobs are expected to be created in the Galway Gaeltacht over the next 2 years when a number of new projects become fully operational.
In its end of year report, Údaras na Gaeltachta says a significant number of projects, with a total investment of over 16 million euro were approved in 2013.
222 new jobs were created in the Galway Gaeltacht last year, and there were 2,741 full time jobs in Údaras supported companies at year end.
When job losses are taken into account, there was a net gain of 11 new jobs in the region.
The majority of job losses were in companies operating in traditional manufacturing, tourism and construction.
