Katie O’Connor and Steven Sharpe are two of Galway’s most prolific and established gay musicians.

This Saturday, August 15, the duo will bring their out-and-proud act to the City’s Róisín Dubh as part of Galway Gay Pride weekend.

Katie O’Connor has a low-key, reserved manner, which allows her to put the spotlight on her strong lyrics and haunting delivery.

Steven Sharpe has a no-holds-barred, witty and soulful style, which mixes music, humour and storytelling.

Steven and Katie’s new project, To Gaze Upon Us, debuted in April in the Róisín Dubh and now makes a welcome return to the Dominick Street venue.

Steven takes Kate to more upbeat areas and she leads him to more sentimental and heartfelt places.

Blending their individual styles, Katie’s melodic vocal tones complement Steven’s flamboyant sass to create a lush, fresh sound.

Expect some more musical shenanigans from Sharpie & The Broke Straight Boys (Shane O’Malley on bass, Dylan Murphy on guitar and Dave Shaughnessy on drums) and soulful sounds from Katie O’Connor.

This night brings together some of Galway’s most hard-working and talented musicians, and it promises to be a highlight for Pride weekend!

This show will take place in the upstairs venue of the Róisín Dubh, Doors are 9pm and admission is €5.
