OUGHTERARD MAN SENTENCED FOR THREATENING PREGANANT WOMAN

An Oughterard man who entered the car of a pregnant driver and threatened to kill her if she didn’t give him a lift to the hospital has been sentenced to five months in prison.

Michael Noone of 5 Waterfield in Oughterard pleaded guilty at Galway District Court to using the threatening words on December 23rd last year.

Defence Solictor Colin Lynch said Noone had suffered a tragic bereavement in his family some years ago and had suffered with alcohol addiction ever since.
