Oughterard house fire victim named locally

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The elderly man who died in a house fire in Oughterard in the early hours of yesterday (23/6) has been named locally as Tom Naughton from Rusheeny.
The body of the 83-year old was discovered at his home just outside the village yesterday morning by neighbours.
It’s thought the fire broke out on Sunday night but went unnoticed because it was contained within the bungalow.
Gardaí are not treating the fire as suspicious.
