Oughterard caught at the post

IT’S difficult to knowif it was the last minute equaliser by French striker Mustapha or the dramatic effect afterwards with all the resulting back flips and somersaults that caused the most excitment, but the outcome in this Western Hygiene Supplies Third Division tie at Drom on Sunday was just pure theatre at the finish.
Throughout an enjoyable contest, Oughterard were the better footballing side and twice led by two goals, but their inability to finish off a serious amount of chances was eventually to prove their
downfall.
Both sides are in contention for promotion and therefore neither team was prepared to yield an inch and to the credit of Salthill Devon B, they were never prepared to throw in the towel inspite of spending a lot of their time chasing the game.
Oughterard led by 3-1at the break after producing a smashing opening 45 minutes, but on the resumption they were not clinical enough and some of their misses were unforgiveable, while home ‘keeper Robbie Hannon made a number of fine saves.
