ORANMORE TWO WAY TO BE REINSTATED TODAY

Council engineers are due to begin road signage works today [Oct 5] which will see the old two-way system reinstated at the Old School House junction in Oranmore.

It follows months of peak-time morning traffic delays on the Maree Road since the intersection was made into a one-way in April.

The changeover was implemented as part of the town traffic management plan.

Following discussions with local area councillors and a public consultation period, a reversal has now been approved.

Cllr Jim Cuddy says the new system will be operational later today [Oct 5] and should ease the concerns received from local residents and commuters.
