Oranmore still forcing the Division 1 pace

THE agenda has been set and now it is up to the chasing pack to try and reel in Oranmore as they moved seven points clear at the top of the Western Hygiene Supplies First Division following this win over their fellow title contenders on Sunday.
While the margin is considerable — Mervue Utd B trail them by 11 points — they do enjoy three games in hand. Elsewhere, the students of NUIG could pose a threat if they can sustain a challenge, while OLBC look to have too much ground to make up (eight points) inspite of displaying some good recent form.
Oranmore, under Ollie Neary, have made huge strides and with a mixture of very seasoned campaigners and talented youngsters, they have blended well into a competitive force.
Aidan Forde and Gareth Gorman have been around for a considerable time and there is no doubt that if the former’s goal celebration is anything to go by, the ex-Mervue and Galway Utd player is as committed to the cause as ever.
