Oranmore’s basketball double

Hot on the heels of their club’s double at the basketball National Cup finals in Dublin last weekend, Calasanctius made it a second double on Tuesday when they captured both the U-16 A and U-19A girls titles.

The school’s hopes of an unprecedented treble were dashed when their U-19 boys squandered a three point lead with just ten seconds left on the clock in a third, thrilling final.

What a fabulous week it’s been for basketball in the Oranmore area, with four national titles at both schools and club levels.
