Oranmore man scammed out of thousands of euro
Galway Bay fm newsroom – An Oranmore man was scammed out of 4 thousand euro in a case of sophisticated fraud.
32 year old engineer, Damien Glynn from Oranmore gave up his job in Ireland to move to Scotland to work on an oil rig.
However, when he got there he realised the job offer had been bogus.
According to today’s Irish Independent, the scam uses information from reputable companies to offer people jobs.
Fake certificates from Metropolitan Police in the U.K, established gas and oil companies and an insurance firm are produced.
Mr. Glynn, who managed to return to his old job in Galway, is warning other people to be vigilant if offered a job online.
