Oranmore based CISCO announces global job cuts
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Global technology company, Cisco, which has a base in Oranmore, is to cut 5 percent of its worldwide workforce.
The Irish Times reports the network equipment maker is cutting the 4,000 jobs as it makes a fresh attempt to reduce costs and refocus on growth areas.
Cisco employs over 200 people at its site in the Oranmore Business Park.
Last year, Cisco announced the creation of 115 new jobs at its Oranmore research and development facility following a 26 million euro investment by the company.
