OPPOSITION TO LANDING FEES FOR ARAN ISLAND FLIGHTS

A proposal to charge landing fees for flights in and out of the Aran Islands is being met with strong opposition.

The Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs has awarded a Public Service Obligation Contract to Aer Arann for the flights.

However it’s understood the new PSO contract covers three flights for Inis Mór each day and two flights for the other islands.
