Open air concerts for city

Thousands of people are expected to attend two free open-air concerts of world music which take place in Galway City over the next two weeks.
Celebrating interculturalism in the West of Ireland is the theme of the concerts which are being organised by Sean agus Nua productions.
The first celebration of world music will take place on Saturday August 18 at the courtyard of Galway City Museum beside the Spanish Arch between 12 noon and 4pm.
The concert will be an eclectic mix of ethnic music including Brazilian Samba, Filipino rock and Irish trad as well as a South African female vocal group and folk musicians from Poland and France.
Bob Marley’s former sidekick Natty Wailer will be the main attraction on the following Saturday August 25 when the second open–air celebration of music takes place in Eyre Square.
