Business advisory firm KPMG is moving to larger offices at the Dockgate building at the Docks, as part of its continuing expansion in Galway.

The company has been operating in Galway for 35 years, and employs more than 70 people in audit, tax and advisory services to a range of clients in the Border Midlands West and Mid-West region.

KPMG’s Resident Partner in Galway, Brian Thornton, said: “Due to our continued expansion, we are relocating to much larger premises at Dockgate.

“This move reflects our confidence in the region and the continued success of our clients which range from dynamic private and family owned businesses to leading multinationals.

“We have a significant and growing presence in Galway and to be involved in many aspects of life and business in the city. For example, we are actively involved with and support the Galway Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Cancer Care West and Croí at Board level and through various committees and our Corporate Social Responsibility committee provides support throughout the year to various organisations.

“Galway is a very dynamic city and a great place to live and work. The success of Galway has been based on a range of factors from excellent third level education at NUI, Galway and the GMIT and to the work of the IDA and Enterprise Ireland in supporting existing businesses and attracting new ventures to the region. “This is evidenced by the significant clustering of the med-tech and IT/telecommunications sectors and by the presence of other significant employers in the healthcare, marine, arts and tourism sectors,” said Mr Thornton.
