Galway Bay fm newsroom – Consultants have one month to submit an expression of interest in carrying out a feasability study for Galway Airport.
Galway County and City Councils own the Carnmore facility and they have advertised the tender for a company to carry out a study about its future use.
The Councils bought the airport site for 1.1 million euro after a State subsidy was withdrawn in 2011 and commercial flights ended.
The local authorities want to identify potential opportunities for the 115-acre site, such as manufacturing, research and development, aviation activity, food production or renewable energy.
The deadline for submitting tenders is 12 noon on Thursday September 11th.
