Ombudsman investigates 76 complaints against Galway public bodies

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The office of the Ombudsman examined 76 valid complaints made by members of the public in Galway last year.
The Ombudsman’s annual report for 2013 shows that 36 complaints were made against Galway County Council, and 16 against the City Council.
The watchdog visits Citizen’s Information Centres in Galway on a monthly basis, and members of the public are invited to submit their complaints.
The valid complaints which were examined by the Ombudsman last year included issues relating to Social Protection, healthcare and social housing.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Peter Tyndall says social housing is one of the main concerns for people in Galway.
