on

Blue Teapot Theatre Company is staging Oliver Twists, an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Victorian melodrama, as its Christmas show.

The production will run from December 5-15 in the company’s theatre space at Munster Avenue in Galway City.

This is a new adaptation by Rod Goodall, who also directs, and it will be performed by a cast whose members have an intellectual disability.

Fagin, a cunning criminal and his gang of street-smart pickpockets meet Oliver, a hungry orphan boy with a big heart.

In order to avoid the hangman’s noose, Fagin must convince a judge and jury of his good intentions in caring for Oliver – in the hope of his own redemption.

The audience are the jury – and it is they who will decide Fagin’s fate.

It will be performed at 11am on December 5, 6, 7 and 12; at 3pm on Saturday, December 8; and at 7pm on December 13, 14 and 15.

The show is suitable for those aged seven and older and lasts about an hour with no interval. There is wheelchair access. Just contact Cheryl on 091-394827 or email tickets@bluethroat.ice with that or any other query.

■ Tickets for Oliver Twists can be booked through Eventbrite.ie and there is no booking fee.
