OBJECTORS CROSS EXAMINE WITNESSES AT M17 HEARING

Representatives of objectors to the proposed M17 Galway to Tuam motorway have begun cross examining Galway County Council’s experts witnesses at an oral hearing in the city.

Earlier today, An Bord Pleanala inspector, Billy Moore recalled several Council witnesses to clarify details in their evidence.

Legal representatives for over 100 objectors have begun cross examining the witnesses this afternoon and many of their queries relate to noise barriers and sound proofing.

Among them is Peter Sweetman, representing heritage group, An Taisce and another objector.
