NUMBER OF PATIENTS ON TROLLIES AT UHG INCREASING

Over four thousand patients were treated on trolleys at University Hospital Galway last year, more than double the figure of 2006.

A five-year review by the INMO, reveals that the number of patients on trolleys at Portiuncula hospital in Ballinasloe has also doubled in the space of five years.

840 patients were treated on trolleys at Portiuncula hospital in 2010, compared to over 400 in 2006.

At UHG, over 4 thousand patients were seen on trolleys last year, compared to just over 1600 patients five years ago.
