NUIGALWAY STUDENT STILL CRITICAL AFTER HALLOWEEN INCIDENT

A 21 year old NUI Galway student remains in a critical condition in hospital in Dublin this morning after his Halloween costume caught fire.

Matthew Sheridan, a second year medical student, is receiving treatment for serious burn injuries at St James Hospital in Dublin.

Matthew, who is from Dublin, had been out celebrating Halloween at HALO nightclub on Abbeygate street when his costume caught fire at around 12:20 yesterday morning.

Staff rushed to his assistance before an ambulance took him to University Hospital Galwau where he was treated for burns.

Yesterday, he was transferred to St James Hospital in Dublin where he remains in a critical condition this morning.

Milstreet Gardai are investigating and have already questioned several people in connection with the incident.
