NUIG to host conference on child abduction
A major international conference on family conflict and child abduction takes place in the city tomorrow.
The event, hosted by NUI Galway, aims to raise awareness about mediation as a method of intervention in certain cases of family dispute.
Aimed at judges, legal practitioners, child care workers and academics the conference will bring together renowned experts as well as representatives of the EU network of international family mediators.
Around 60 delegates are expected to take part in the event which is taking place in the the Arts Millenium building at NUIG.
Lughaidh Kerin of the school of Law at NUI Galway explains the conference aims to give delegates a broader understanding of issues in relation to mediation.
