NUIG TO COLLABORATE WITH CHINESE BIOMEDICAL RESEARCHERS

NUI Galway is to sign a major research deal with two Chinese bodies today.

The Memorandum of Understanding involves NUIG based Network of Excellence for Functional Biomaterials.

NUIG President Dr Jim Browne is in Beijing for the signing with the Tianjin International Joint Academy of Biotechnology and Medicine (TJAB) and a major Chinese medical technology company China Nucleon Medical Technology Group (CNPK).

The memorandum is designed to encourage a mutually beneficial relationship which will facilitate the exchange of researchers, the exchange of academic information and the development of collaborative research projects.

Health Minister Dr. James Reilly will also witness the Memorandum of Understanding and will be a keynote speaker at the China Health Forum, also in Beijing.
