NUIG TO CARRY OUT PIONEERING STUDY ON MIDGES

A major study on midges is being carried out by scientists at the National University of Ireland Galway.

The study is focused on the role various types of midges play in spreading the potentially deadly “Blue Tongue” disease in livestock.

Meanwhile, there are reports from Connemara that midges are currently causing major problems.
