NUIG HIGHLIGHTS BENEFITS OF PUBLIC DATA ACCESSIBILITY

A symposium aimed at getting public authorities to make information more accessible will take in Galway today.
NUI Galway’s Digital Enterprise Research Institute is hosting the event to motivate the Government to make public data more freely available.
It’s part of Irish Open Data week with events taking place across the country on how authorities can publish public data.
It’s a Global Movement with President Barack Obama one of it’s main proponents.
Deputy Mayor of Galway, Ollie Crowe will open the event at DERI in NUIG at 10 o’ clock this morning and it will run until 5pm.
