NUI Galway to lead Irish and Japanese research consortium

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A consortium of third level institutions, led by NUI Galway, has been awarded 1 point 2 million euro in funding to collaborate with their Japanese counterparts.

The consortium will partner with 21 Japanese universities and a number of companies and research institutes to perform cutting edge scientific research.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny announced details of the project in Japan this week.

Project leader, Professor Ciaran Morrison of NUI Galway says the key goal of the initiative is to forge new collaborative links between researchers in 2 countries.
