NUI GALWAY TO HOST SEANAD CANDIDATES

Candidates hoping to be elected to Seanad Eireann by the NUI panel will be grilled by past and present students of NUI Galway next month.

27 candidates, including three from Galway, are seeking votes from NUI graduates.

NUIG lecturer Donncha O Connell, and outgoing Galway senators Ronan Mullen and Niall O’ Brolchain are the Galway nominees.

Three of the sixty new senators will be elected exclusively by graduates of the National university of Ireland, which includes NUI Galway.

The "meet the candidates" evening will take place at NUI Galway on Monday week.
