NUI Galway develops interactive app about antibiotics risk

Galway Bay fm newsroom – NUI Galway has launched an app for the iPad to help educate children and adults about resistance to antibiotics.
The Discipline of General Practice at the college has developed Bug Run, an app which includes a game and an educational video.
It teaches 4 to 10 year olds about the importance of staying healthy and that taking antibiotics comes at a price.
The award-winning app is free and can be downloaded from the App Store.
Dr. Akke Vellinga says it’s important that people know the effects of taking antibiotics.
