NOVEMBER TRIAL FOR AHASCRASH PRIEST CLAIMING DEFAMATION

A defamation case against RTÉ by an Ahascragh priest is to begin in the High Court next month.

RTÉ apologised to Father Kevin Reynolds last week for defaming him in a Prime Time Investigates programme on 23 May.

In it, he was accused of raping a woman and fathering her child while working as a missionary in Kenya in the 80s.

In its apology, RTÉ said the allegations were without foundation and baseless.

Fr. Reynolds returned to his ministry in Ahascragh last Sunday.

The defamation action will be heard in the High Court November 15th.
