NORTH GALWAY TO GET RURAL TRANSPORT SCHEME

Funding has been allocated for a Rural Transport service in North Galway.

The service will be managed by Galway Rural Development Company and is funded by Pobail.

The position of a transport co-ordinator for the service will be advertised shortly and some routes are expected to be in place by January

Councillor Seán Canney says the initial plan will be to develop up to 12 routes and says rural transport is a vital link for many people living in the county.
