NORTH GALWAY ROCK FESTIVAL MOVED TO CITY VENUE

A lucrative rock festival that was due to take place in North Galway this weekend has now been shifted to the city.

The Fairy Hill Music Festival was to be held in the grounds of Castlehackett House near Belclare where over 3500 revellers could be accommodated.

However due to an investor funding withdrawal of 65 thousand euro, the rock event had to be relocated to the Leisureland Complex in Salthill.

The move also means a reduction in capacity from 3500 to 1500 and in the number of stages from three to two.

The 20 act event which aims to promote Galway music and arts gets underway at 3 o’clock this Saturday.
