North Galway farmer dies after fall from roof

A 59-year-old farmer from North Galway has died following a fall through a shed roof on his farm.

The man, who has not yet been officially named, is believed to have been carrying out repair work on the building at Laragh in Ballyglunin.

He is believed to have fallen through the roof skylight yesterday (Wednesday), but the discovery was not made until today.

The single man, who lived alone, was well-known in the locality.

The scene remains sealed off while separate investigations are carried out by Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority.
