NORTH GALWAY BUSINESSMAN SAYS PROPPING UP FAILED BANKS ACROSS EUROPE IS RIDICULOUS
Date Published: 05-Apr-2012
North Galway based businessman Declan Ganley says Europe will only come out the other side of the debt crisis after a massive bankruptcy.
The Abbeyknockmoy resident’s told an Oireachtas Committee examining the fiscal stability treaty that before we vote in a referendum on May 31st, "we need the freedom to fail".
Mr Ganley has previously led the No campaign against the Lisbon Treaty and failed in a bid to get elected to the European Parliament in 2009.
He says the idea of propping-up failed banks across Europe is ridiculous.
