NORTEL BOSS STEPS DOWN, REVENUES DROP

The President and CEO of Nortel, which has a base in Galway, is stepping down.

The Telecoms equipment giant is reporting this evening that revenues at Nortel dropped by 25 per cent in the second quarter compared to the previous year, to 1.97 billion euro.

The company employs 300 people in Galway.
