NOISE LEVELS CAUSING CONCERN AT CITY BUILDING SITE

The level of noise and vibrations from a building works site in the city is causing concern to local residents

Councillor Niall Ó Brolcháin says many people living near the site of the new shopping centre at Bóthar Stiofán in Knocknacarra have complained about the noise levels

They claim there are at least 6 rock breakers on site and are sometimes all on the go at the same time

While Councillor Ó Brolcháin welcomes the construction of a shopping centre to facilitate that side of the city, he says excessive noise levels are unacceptable

Councillor Ó Brolcháin is calling on the Environment Department of Galway City Council to monitor the noise and vibration levels at the site and ensure they are “toned down”
