Galway West TD Noel Grealish is attempting to quash speculation on his plans to leave the PD party for Fianna Fail.

The back bencher has released a statement in which he calls reports that he will join Fianna Fail speculative and inaccurate.

Speculation about Noel Grealish’s future in the PDs has been mounting since he revealed earlier this year that Fianna Fail had made approaches to him.

In a statement released just before 9 this morning deputy Grealish says he has spoken to PD leader Ciaran Cannon and will be taking part in a proposed root and branch review of the party’s future.

He added that he intends to consult with his constituency membership, his parliamentary colleagues and the wider membership of the party as part of that review.

He adds in the meantime he will remain a member of the PDs parliamentary party

Deputy Grealish has refused to comment further to Galway Bay fm News on his position
