No Stairway play homage to rock legends Led Zeppelin

No Stairway will be paying homage to rock legends Led Zeppelin in Monroe’s Live this Friday, January 24. No Stairway is made up of Ronan O’Malley (guitar), Steven Sharpe (vocals), Shane O Malley (bass) and Bill Dunne (drums).

Cover bands may be part of the weekend scene, but the lads are keen to stress they offer a genuine show.

“A lot of people have a negative few of covers, but all of us love playing them if they’re songs that we love,” says Shane. “That’s what we’re going for.”

“And to take it out of when you go see bands and they’re in a pub in a corner, and you’re not really listening,” says Steven Sharpe, lead singer with No Stairway. “We want to put on more of a spectacle – a big stage, a big room, great tunes.”

Any Led Zeppelin fan looking for those little intricacies should enjoy a No Stairway show.

“We’re trying to do songs closer to the albums,” explains Shane. “Onstage, backing vocals were hardly ever present with Led Zeppelin. Occasionally, John Bonham would do them, but both myself and Bill will be doing backing vocals on the night. We’re trying to do as much with the material as we can.”

This promises to be a night classic rock – where things might get loud!

It’s at midnight and admission €10.
