No rubbish designs!

THE winners of the highly successful recycling awareness competition running at Eyre Square Shopping Centre – Garbage to Gorgeous – were announced on Saturday.
The challenge was to create a unique fashion item or accessory – using only recycled goods. First place went to a group entry by Deirdre McKenna, Laura Baverstock, Louise Cleary, and Kevin Roddy – all from Galway City – who put together a super creation made from chicken wire, covered in plaster of paris and painted white.
The skirt was made from old capping from a kayak and the feathers from old cans!. The bustle at the back was made from old chicken wire and covered with layers and layers of newspapers! The group won a €1,000 shopping spree at the Eyre Square Centre.
