NO REVERSAL OF GALWAY AIRPORT FUNDING CUTS

The Minister for Transport says there will be no reversal of the last government’s decision to cut financial support for Galway Airport.

Leo Varadkar was speaking ahead of a meeting with officials from Galway Airport this evening.

Officials requested the meeting to discuss the airport’s achievements to date and to explore its role as a service of general economic interest.

Aer Arann will cease its flights from Galway to Dublin from July 21st as Government subsidies for regional airports have been cut.
