Management at the Bon Secours group, which includes the Galway hospital, is being asked to reconsider pay cuts or face industrial action next week.(8/02)

A meeting between union officials and hospital representatives took place in Dublin earlier today.

Workers are angry that they got just two weeks notice of a 5 percent pay cut that hit staff at the Bon Secours Group, the Mater Private, and Mount Carmel Hospitals on the first of January.

Staff at the Bon Secours, including Renmore, are threatening a complete withdrawal of services next Monday February the 8th in protest.

A number of proposals were put to management at today’s meeting, which have yet to be decided on.
