No need to panic

GALWAY United’s search for a first home win of the season have received a blow with the news that midfielder John Russell is a major doubt for tonight’s clash with Bohemians in Terryland Park (kick-off 7.45pm).
Russell celebrated his 22nd birthday with a tigerish display against UCD last Friday night, earning the praise of manager Tony Cousins in the process, but a thigh strain has almost certainly ruled him out of tonight’s match.
“It is a pity for John as I thought he was excellent for us last week. He didn’t have a great game against Waterford the previous week, so for him to bounce back like that and play the way he did last week showed a lot of character, and it is a blow if he misses out tonight,” Cousins says.
There are also concerns over the fitness of Colm James, who only returned to training yesterday morning after picking up a dead leg last Friday night, but the outlook wouldappear to be more positive in his case.
