No funds for full-time staff at Tuam Ambulance base
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Tuam Town Council has been told that the HSE does not have funds for staffing the town’s new ambulance base on a full-time basis.
This month’s meeting of the town board was informed by Town Clerk Mary Dunne that she received this response following a recent query to the HSE.
The town clerk said she was informed by the HSE that they did not have anyone to attend the meeting of the town council, they had no money for additional staff and no timetable regarding its opening hours was available.
Cllr Tom Reilly said it was ridiculous that 1.7 million Euro had been spent on a “white elephant”.
He asked that the HSE official be again asked to attend a town board meeting and explain the situation.
