The state of the main Galway-Clifden-Leenane roaD, known as the N. 59, was discussed at a meeting in Leinster House yesterday.

The N59 has been widely described as the worst road of its kind in Ireland

Galway West TDs joined forces with Connemara County Councillors to put the case for more money to representatives from the National Roads Authority at the special meeting.

However, there is no extra allocation for 2008.
