NO DECISION YET ON BROADBAND FOR TUAM

Tuam has no hope industrially if there is no commitment to bring industrial broadband to the town in 2008 according to Councillor Paul O’Grady.

He was one of a number of councillors who insists that ducting for broadband be put in with other cables when the town streets are being dug up next month.

Director of Services Frank Gilmore said the Co Council is evaluating tender documents for the Tuam main drinage scheme and the provision of ducts for Broadband is part of this evaluation.

But no decision has yet been taken regarding the provision of the ducts.
