THE cost of water, especially for businesses in towns such as Tuam, look likely to increase once the County Council’ s are no longer subsiding them.

Tuam Town Council has been told that this is expected to happen as soon as a private firm takes over the operation of Ireland’s water supply systems.

However, Tuam business people will be relieved that there is to be no increase in their rates for 2013.

This is despite an estimated slight increase of 30,000 Euro in the town council’s expenditure for the next year.

The figures were presented to members of Tuam Town Council at their meeting last night.
