NO ARRESTS YET FOLLOWING WEEKEND CITY CENTRE ASSAULT

No arrests have yet been made following a serious assault in the city centre at the weekend.

A city man, in his 20s, was walking along Augustine Street on his own at around 11pm on Saturday when he was attacked.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Galway, however his injuries were not life-threatening.

Gardaí are appealling for anyone who may have been in the Augustine Street area around 11pm on Saturday or who may have witnessed the assault to contact them at 091 53 8000.
