NINTH HOUR MEETING TO RESOLVE ROW OVER MAYORAL ELECTION

Last-ditch talks are underway in a bid to resolve a row, which could decide the next Mayor of Galway.

The talks got underway just after 5 and the city council meeting is scheduled for 7pm.

Mayor-hopeful, Councillor Hildegarde Naughton admitted earlier today that she ‘regrets’ causing offence to two other councillors with comments she made at a meeting about the City Development Plan.
